About Ucfv-aded	English (USA)
This list is intended as an electronic meeting place, primarily for students and faculty of the University College of the Fraser Valley Adult Education Degree Program. Others interested in the adult education program or who want to stay in touch with what is happening in the program are more than welcome to subscribe. This email list service also is used as a primary means for the program to distribute program-related and institution-related information, announcements, and to otherwis communicate with with our program community. This list may be used to post program-related questions, the answers to which may be of interest to members of the subscriber community. Anyone who is subscribed to the list may post messages. We encourage subscribers to use this list as a meeting place. We also encourage you to use the list to share web links and other information generally related to the field of adult education. We do, however, discourage folks from forwarding what are electronic chain letters, including mass distribution of jokes and the like. For the most part, this list is unmoderated. In the spirit of a university setting, aside from the conditions set out above (and conventional legal restrictions regarding such matters as hate literature, child pornography and the like) this list ought to be treated as a domain for ideas, including challenging ideas. While it will always be acceptable on this list to engage in discourse over ideas -- particularly those related to the general interests of adult education, its role in society and/or this program -- we will actively discourage any personal attacks (sometimes known as 'flaming') on contributors or other subscribers. The list also has constraints built in, which prevent large files, such as images or whole articles, from being distributed through the list. If a subscriber wishes to make such materials available to list members, it is best to announce availability, and then send the items directly to any folks who make a direct request. Please note that this list software includes a number of options, including receiving postings in batches, and the ability to temporarily suspend your receiving email, if, for example, you are to be away from your home computer for an extended period.
